Bank account
An account at a bank with no card attached: an instant-access savings account, a currency account, and in a business book — the current account of a sole trader or a company, through which client payments, rent, salaries and taxes flow.
How to create one
- On the “Accounts” screen press + New account.
- Type — “Bank account”, currency — the currency of the account at the bank.
- Opening balance — the balance on the date you start from.
In a business book
The current account is a sole trader’s main account. Contract payments come in through it; rent, purchases, salaries, tax and contributions go out of it. Revenue that lands on it forms the tax base — unlike virtual accounts, which stay out of it.
Bank details — the tax number, the registration number, the BIC, the account and correspondent numbers — are stored not on the account but in the book passport: that is where invoices and acts take them from.
Cash collection — money from the till to the current account — is a transfer, not income: you already recorded the revenue when you received it.
Where to go next
- Business book — the passport, the details, the tax regime.
- Taxes — what is worked out from money arriving in the account.
- Accounts — the general part.
