Phone widgets
Widgets bring Svodly to your home screen: record an expense in two taps, see what's left of the budget, the upcoming charges and your cashback rates — without opening the app. A tap on a widget opens the right place in the app: the transaction form, “Budgets”, a subscription card or “Cashback”.
Widgets are available in the Android and iPhone apps (iOS 17 and newer); desktop and the web have no widgets.
Four widgets
| Widget | What it shows | What a tap opens |
|---|---|---|
| Quick entry | The “Expense”, “Receipt” and “Voice” buttons (or “Expense” and “Income”) and preset tiles — templates of your frequent expenses. | The new transaction form; a preset fills it in. |
| Budget | What's left of the monthly budget, the spending pace and how much you can spend a day. | “Budgets” for the current month. |
| Upcoming | Subscription charges due in the next 30 days: what, when and how much. | The subscription card — tap its line. |
| Cashback | Cashback rates by card and how many days are left until they reset. | “Cashback”. |
Each widget shows one book — the one picked in its settings. A tap opens that book's data: if another book is open in the app, Svodly switches to it by itself. So you can place two “Quick entry” widgets — for a personal and for a business book.
The Android widget gallery lists the widgets under their Russian names — «Быстрый ввод» (Quick entry), «Бюджет» (Budget), «Списания» (Upcoming) and «Кэшбеки» (Cashback); the widgets themselves follow the app language.
How to add a widget
- Long-press an empty spot on the home screen and choose Widgets.
- Find Svodly (“Свод.ли”) in the list and expand it — there are four widgets with previews.
- Tap the widget you need and Add — or drag it to a free spot.
- The widget's settings open. Pick the book — and, for “Quick entry”, the buttons and presets — and tap Done. “Budget”, “Upcoming” and “Cashback” have a single setting, the book, and the widget appears as soon as you pick it.
- To resize it, long-press the widget, let go and drag the dots on the frame. The bigger the widget, the more fits on it — from a 2×2 square to the full width of the screen.
Menu names depend on the phone: some launchers add widgets via “Add to home screen” or straight from the Svodly icon's menu. If the app has never been opened yet, the widget says “Open Svodly” — launch the app once, and the data shows up.
On iPhone, touch and hold an empty area of the Home Screen, tap Edit → Add Widget, find Svodly and pick a widget and a size: small, medium or large (Cashback — medium and large). The book, and the buttons and presets of Quick entry, are set in the widget settings: touch and hold the widget and tap Edit Widget.
Quick entry
The shortest way to a new transaction. The widget has two modes, picked in its settings:
- “Expense · three ways” — the Expense button (an empty expense form), Receipt (the FNS receipt scanner opens right away) and Voice (voice recording starts right away). That's how the widget looks when you add it.
- “Classic · Expense and Income” — two buttons, expense and income. A widget that was on the screen before the app update stays like this; “three ways” are switched on in its settings.
Every tap ends in the form. The widget records nothing by itself: you see the amount, account and category in the form and save them with Save. A wrong tap does no harm — just tap Cancel.
“Receipt” and “Voice” work with Svodly Cloud connected, just like the same buttons in the form. Without the cloud the widget opens the expense form with a hint to connect it. FNS receipts are scanned only in personal books, so the “Receipt” button isn't available in the settings of a business-book widget; voice recording needs Android 10 or later, or an iPhone.
What you can set up
| Section | What it picks |
|---|---|
| Book | The book the transaction is created in. |
| Mode | “Expense · three ways” or “Classic · Expense and Income”. |
| Buttons | Which of the three ways to show: “Expense”, “Receipt scan”, “Voice”. At least one button stays. |
| Presets | Whether to show preset tiles and which ones. A picked preset gets a number — the tiles follow that order. Nothing picked — the widget shows all presets of the book. |
| Small size | What fits into a 2×2 widget: the buttons in a column or four preset tiles. |
The wider the widget, the more fits on it: four columns wide — buttons on the left and tiles on the right; in the large size — a row of buttons and up to nine tiles.
Change a widget's settings
Long-press the widget and let go — a frame with a pencil in the corner appears around it. Tap the pencil: the same settings as when adding open. After Done the widget is redrawn right away. Another way is to long-press the widget and drag it onto “Widget settings” at the top of the screen.
Presets
A preset is a template of a frequent expense: the tile label, amount, category, account, counterparty and description. A tap on the tile opens a form filled from the preset — check it and save. Presets are created in the app: Settings → Widgets.
- From suggestions. Under “Suggestions from your expenses” Svodly collects expenses repeated at least three times in 90 days with the same amount, category and counterparty. One tap on a suggestion — and the preset is ready.
- Your own. Add preset — the name, amount and the other fields by hand. The amount is optional: without it the form opens with the cursor in the amount field.
- From a transaction. The transaction card has a “Save as preset” item.
The arrows next to a preset change the order, a tap on it opens editing. A book holds up to 12 presets. Presets are stored on the phone and are not synced: each book has its own, and on another device you create them again. If the preset's category or account is later deleted or archived, the form opens without that field.
Budget
Shows the book's overall budget for the current month — the same numbers as the large card on the “Budgets” screen. If there's no overall budget, the widget adds up the month's targeted budgets.
- Small — a ring with the share spent and what's left.
- Wide — what's left, a spending bar with the month's pace mark, “≈ a day” and the status: “on track”, “ahead of pace” or “over the limit”.
- Large — plus the targeted budgets: first those closest to the limit or already overspent.
A tap opens “Budgets” for the current month. No budgets yet — the widget suggests setting a limit.
Upcoming
Subscription charges due in the next 30 days: the name, when — “tomorrow”, “in 3 days” — and the amount. A charge within the next three days is highlighted. In the wide and large sizes the widget also sums up: how much goes out over 30 days and how many charges there are.
- A tap on a line opens that subscription's card — there you can skip the next charge or cancel the subscription.
- A tap elsewhere on the widget opens the “Subscriptions” tab in “Analytics”.
If there are subscriptions but nothing is due in the next 30 days, the widget says so and names the next charge. Subscriptions are kept in personal books — a business-book widget reminds you of that.
Cashback
Cashback rates by card: a section per card, one rate per line. The subtitle shows the book and how many days are left until the monthly rates reset (on the 1st); three days before the reset the caption is highlighted — time to review the categories in your bank. What doesn't fit goes into a “N more cards” line. A tap opens “Cashback”.
How widgets update
You don't need to refresh a widget by hand. The app rebuilds the widgets' data after every change, when you open or return to the app and after a sync. And whatever depends on today — “in 3 days”, the month's pace, “≈ a day”, the days until the rates reset — the widget recalculates by itself, even if the app hasn't been opened for several days. The widgets' theme and language are the same as in the app.
Where to go next
- Transactions — the form “Quick entry” leads to.
- FNS receipts and voice input — what the “Receipt” and “Voice” buttons do.
- Budgets, subscriptions and cashback — where the widgets get their data.
