Investment account
Your real brokerage account or IIA. What sets it apart is the separate layer of tracking inside it — by issuer: shares, funds, bonds, trades, yields and market revaluation. The details live in the “Investments” section; this page is about the account itself.
How to create one
- On the “Accounts” screen press + New account.
- Type — “Investments”.
- Choose the subtype: brokerage or IIA. An IIA additionally tracks the deductions you claimed.
- The payout tax rate — 13 % for a brokerage account and 0 % for an IIA by default; it is pre-filled into the tax field when you enter a dividend or a coupon. You can change it at any time.
- Opening balance — the free cash on the account, not the value of the portfolio. Securities are not “placed” on the account by hand: purchase transactions bring them in and reduce the free balance.
Two figures: cash on the account and the value of the securities
An investment account carries two amounts side by side, and they answer different questions.
- The balance is the free cash: what you paid in, minus what went into securities, plus the payouts received.
- “Securities” is the market value of the positions of every issuer on the account, at the latest MOEX closing prices. It is visible both on the account card in “Accounts” (in place of the sparkline) and as a tile in the header of the account card itself.
A fully sold issuer is not counted. If there is no price for some issuers — no ticker, or the quotes have not been fetched yet — the total for the rest is shown with a “≈” and a hint about how many positions are unpriced. No prices at all — “—”. With no network and no cloud the screen works from the last saved prices.
The book's totals stay cash-based. The value of the securities goes neither into the “Total” in “Accounts” nor into the Summary, analytics, reports and budgets — otherwise they would gain “income” from revaluation that never appeared in a single transaction.
The details for each issuer — XIRR, yields, the chart and the trades — live on its card in the “Investments” section.
If the balance goes negative, more purchases are recorded than money paid in: add a top-up as a transfer from a card — exactly as it happens at the broker.
Where to go next
- Investments — issuers, trades, MOEX tickers, yields, IIA.
- Savings account — for a predictable rate rather than the market.
- Accounts — the general part.
