Migrating from other apps
Moving to Svodly from another app or a spreadsheet? You don’t need to enter your history again. Export the data from the old app to a file and import it — transactions, accounts and categories are picked up automatically. Below are step-by-step guides for popular apps.
Personal finance
- ZenMoney (Zenmoney) — expenses, income, transfers and currency exchange, multi-currency accounts, nested categories.
- CoinKeeper — transactions, accounts and savings jars.
- 1Money — transactions with subcategories, several accounts, income and expenses.
- Alzex Finance — a deep category tree, multi-currency, counterparties; “Personal Finance” and “Family Budget”.
Business and sole proprietors
- Elba (SKB Kontur) — transactions on a settlement account and the KUDiR, counterparties with their details.
Spreadsheets and paper
- Excel, Google Sheets or a notebook — a ready-made template with the right columns and a guide on how to move manual bookkeeping.
What gets moved
In most cases almost everything comes across — transactions with dates and amounts, accounts, categories, counterparties and transfers between accounts. Details and caveats for each app are on its own page. The general logic:
| Entity | Moved |
|---|---|
| Transactions (income, expenses) | Yes — with date, amount, description |
| Accounts and their currency | Yes — created from the export |
| Categories | Yes — with nested subcategories |
| Counterparties | Yes, if present in the source data |
| Transfers between accounts | Yes — linked into a pair |
| Attachments (receipts, photos) | No — they stay in the old app |
You don’t need to enter balances by hand. Svodly computes an account’s balance as the sum of its transactions. Move your history and the balances will add up on their own. If the export is missing the oldest transactions, the difference is closed with a single “Adjustment” transaction.
Don’t see your app?
Svodly imports any CSV or Excel. Export the data from your app to one of these formats, open Import and check the column mapping — the app recognizes Russian and English headers automatically. Details are in the “Import & export” section.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to connect the cloud to move my data?
No. Import works locally, without an account and without internet. The cloud is only needed if you later want to sync the book between devices.
Will the history for all years be moved?
Yes. As many transactions are imported as there are in the exported file. There is no limit on the period — bring over even five years’ worth.
My app isn’t on the list — what do I do?
The universal import works: export the data from your app to CSV or Excel, and Svodly will parse the columns automatically. The guide is in the “Import & export” section.
What happens if an import goes wrong?
Each import is saved as a separate batch. Any batch can be undone with one button — the transactions are deleted and the balances return to their state before the import.
