Migrating from 1Money

1Money stores transactions with categories and subcategories, and all of it can be moved into Svodly. Export the data to Excel or CSV and import it — accounts, categories and history will come across automatically.

Step 1. Export from 1Money

  1. Open the 1Money app.
  2. Go to Settings → Export.

  4. Transfer the file to a computer with the desktop or web version of Svodly.

Step 2. Import into Svodly

  1. Open Import in the sidebar.
  2. Drag the file into the window.
  3. Check the column mapping: date, amount, type (income/expense), category, account.
  4. Choose the destination account and review the preview.
  5. Confirm the import.

More on the mapping and the preview — in the “Import & export” section.

Mapping specifics

Check the sign of the transactions. 1Money marks the type (Income / Expense / Transfer) and lays the amounts out across income/expense columns. On the preview step, make sure expenses show with a minus sign and income with a plus.

1Money’s subcategories are moved as nested Svodly subcategories: a parent category and a subcategory within it.

What won’t come across

Undo, if something went wrong

An import is saved as a separate batch. If you’re not happy with the result — open the import log and tap “Undo”: this batch’s transactions are deleted and the balances return to their previous state.

Frequently asked questions

What format does 1Money export to?

1Money can export transactions to Excel and CSV. Svodly understands both formats — pick whichever is convenient.

Will subcategories be moved?

Yes. 1Money stores a category and a subcategory — Svodly preserves the nesting (a parent category and a subcategory within it).

How does 1Money tell income from expense on import?

1Money marks the transaction type (Income / Expense / Transfer) and lays the amounts out across columns. Svodly determines the sign of the transaction from this data — check it in the preview.

Will the whole history be moved?

Yes. As many transactions are imported as there are in the file — there is no limit on the period.
